Batch 1 of English headwords delivered

The first batch of the Entry Frameworks was delivered by LexMC in July 2008. This comprises 4% of the total Frameworks, i.e. headwords in the letter A (1,820 headwords/ 5,400 lexical units in total). Foras na Gaeilge is currently carrying out a quality control check of these Frameworks.

An Entry Framework is a database entry for a headword which records the various meanings and uses of a given word along with relevant grammatical and functional information and examples from the project’s 1.7 billion words LexMCI English corpus..

The Entry Frameworks are designed to create a complete profile of each English headword for the translators working in Phase 2b. Examples of Entry Frameworks can be viewed here.
